The idea is simple and unusual: it brings two Mykonos scents together in one bottle, Mykonos Inception and Mykonos Sorrento. Its character in four words is fresh, fizzy, citrusy and soapy.

Five notes are common to both parents: bergamot, neroli, ginger, musk and cedarwood. From Inception alone come lemon, black tea and guaiac wood. From Sorrento alone come fizzy grapefruit, mandarin orange, magnolia and amber.
Just as telling is what was left out. Inception's cinnamon is not in the new pyramid, and neither are Sorrento's powdery notes, water notes, patchouli and orris root. On paper, then, Inception Reimagined keeps the tea-and-wood backbone of one and the sparkling grapefruit of the other, and drops the spice and the powder.
What the notes tell us
The opening is all citrus: four of them. Bergamot and lemon are the sharp, bright ones, mandarin orange is sweeter, and fizzy grapefruit is the note that gives Sorrento its sparkling effect. This is where "fizzy" comes from.
The heart turns cleaner and more aromatic. Neroli is the soapy, slightly green side of the orange tree, which explains the "soapy" in the description. Ginger adds a fresh warmth, black tea a dry, slightly tannic depth and magnolia a light, lemony floral touch.
The base is dry and woody rather than sweet: musk for the clean finish, cedarwood and guaiac wood for structure, and amber for a little warmth. There is no vanilla or caramel in this pyramid.
