Mykonos is an Indonesian perfume brand, and its perfumes are produced locally, in the country where the brand was born. That is a deliberate choice. Indonesia is an archipelago with a deep relationship to scent: flowers, spices, woods and resins have been part of daily life and trade there for centuries. It is also a place of heat and humidity, where a fragrance is truly put to the test from the moment it touches the skin.
Producing locally keeps the distance between an idea and a finished bottle short, and it keeps the brand rooted in the place it comes from. For Mykonos, "Born in Indonesia" is not a line on the back of a box. It is a statement of origin, and of pride in what that origin can produce.
A Mediterranean state of mind
The name points somewhere else entirely: to a white island in a blue sea. Mykonos stands for a certain kind of light. Three commitments
Mykonos makes three commitments about what goes into the bottle and how it is made.
- Skin-safe ingredients. Perfume lives on the skin for hours. Mykonos formulas are made with ingredients chosen to be safe for exactly that purpose.
- Long-lasting formulas. A scent should stay with you. Mykonos perfumes are composed to last, so that what you put on in the morning is still part of you later in the day.
- No animal testing. Mykonos perfumes are not tested on animals.
