What Each Mykonos Perfume Is Inspired By: The Full List

If you want to know what each Mykonos perfume is inspired by, you normally have to open the product pages one by one. This page puts all of them in one place. We are an authorized Mykonos retailer for Europe, and everything below is taken from the "inspired by" line on the product pages in our store; the scent family comes from the same product data. The list shows what our product pages state and nothing more: where a page states nothing, we list nothing and we do not guess.

What does "inspired by" mean on a Mykonos perfume?

The "inspired by" line names the fragrance, or the two fragrances, that a composition took as its point of departure. It is a pointer to a direction, given on the product page, so that you have a reference when you cannot smell a bottle through a screen.

It does not mean more than that. It is not a statement that two perfumes wear alike on your skin, it says nothing about concentration or about how long a scent lasts, and it is not a link between companies: Mykonos is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any of the houses named in the table. The names are used only to describe, and all trademarks belong to their owners. We go through this step by step in what "inspired by" means on a perfume, and what it does not.

That is also why this page makes no comparison of its own. We do not rank a Mykonos perfume against the fragrance named next to it, and we say nothing about the named fragrances themselves. You get the line as stated, and on every product page the notes to judge the scent by.

What each Mykonos perfume is inspired by: the 43 stated inspirations

These 43 perfumes have an inspiration on their product page. They are in alphabetical order. A slash means the page lists two names, which is the case for ten of them. House and fragrance names are taken from the product page, and the scent family is the one our store files the perfume under; how that grouping works is in fragrance families explained. A dash in the last column means our product data lists no family for that perfume.

Two things stand out when you read the table. Mykonos Reflection and Mykonos Reflection Elixir list the same line, and Mykonos Nautilus lists two versions of one fragrance. Which Mykonos perfumes are original creations?

Thirteen product pages do not name another fragrance but say "Own creation". Each of these is an original Mykonos creation, composed without a stated point of departure. The scent family is in brackets:

Treat an inspiration as a starting point, not as a verdict. It can tell you which corner of the range to look at first; it cannot tell you whether you will enjoy a scent for a whole day. • You came for one name. Find it in the table, open the product page and read the note pyramid and the brand's ratings for sillage, projection and longevity before you decide.
• Two perfumes name the same fragrance. Compare their notes, not the line. Mykonos Dark Secret and Mykonos Aphrodite both name Kilian Angels' Share, and Aphrodite names a second fragrance next to it; Mykonos Dark Secret vs Aphrodite goes through both pyramids.
