Which Mykonos perfumes are skin scent perfumes?
The handbook rates sillage and projection separately, so we use those ratings. The product data also lists an intensity for many scents, so a perfume can be listed as strong in intensity and still be rated moderate for sillage and projection. At least five of our perfumes are rated moderate for both sillage and projection.
Rated moderate for both
Mykonos Baby Love is the clearest example and the only one of the five whose intensity is listed as light. Violet, musk and rose make up a short pyramid, and the accord reads powdery, musky and floral. It is an eau de parfum listed for spring and summer, for daily wear, evenings and work. The other four are not light, so here is what they are. Mykonos Stilettos is fruity: blackberry, sour cherry and mandarin, then violet and jasmine, over cashmere wood, amber, patchouli, musk and vanilla. Mykonos Xoxo Rosy is floral: Turkish rose, rose petals, orange jam and red berries over amber and musk. Mykonos Black Opera is woody and vanilla: vanilla, jasmine, almond and coffee over cashmere wood and patchouli. Mykonos Caramel Fudge Cookie is a gourmand of cookie dough, caramel, condensed milk and praline. Stilettos, Black Opera and Caramel Fudge Cookie are listed with strong intensity, so they are rich rather than faint; the ratings only say they do not travel far.
Softer than most, but not skin scents
Several more have moderate sillage but moderate to strong projection, among them Mykonos Slow Living, Mykonos Senja, Mykonos Vanilla Clouds, Mykonos Coconut Dreams, Mykonos Pink Beach and Mykonos Paradise. They sit quieter than most of the range but reach a little further from the skin, so we would call them soft rather than close.
Musky does not mean quiet: Milk Drops and Penthouse
Mykonos Milk Drops and Mykonos Penthouse look like skin scents on paper. Milk Drops is milk, white musk and tonka bean; Penthouse is clean musks, a white soap accord and cashmeran. But the ratings say otherwise. Mykonos rates Milk Drops as strong for both sillage and projection, with a longevity of 12+ hours, and Penthouse as moderate to strong for sillage, strong for projection, also 12+ hours. "Musky" describes what a scent smells of, not how far it travels. If you love them anyway, use fewer sprays; the musky collection holds soft and strong scents side by side, so check the ratings.

How to wear a skin scent so it stays close
Start with skin that holds scent. A little unscented moisturiser first gives a perfume something to cling to, and skin changes how a scent reads, as we explain in why perfume smells different on you.
Spray where it is warm. Pulse points such as the inner wrists or the base of the neck warm the scent gently, so it rises without making a cloud.
Do not make up for softness with sprays. A skin scent works at close range, and stacking sprays turns it into something else. One or two is the usual start; how many sprays of perfume has the rule of thumb.
Turning a loud one down. Use a single spray on the chest under clothing, or on a scarf or jumper. Test a hidden spot first, because some perfumes can mark pale or delicate fabrics.
