Quick answer: SUNFORGED is a five-scent summer collection of Mykonos extraits: Marbella (tropical fruit and frangipani), Untamed (clean linen and praline), Inferno (pineapple and spice), Imperium (lime and coconut water) and Nautilus (pear and amber). Pick Imperium or Nautilus for fresh, Marbella for fruity-floral, Inferno for bold and Untamed for clean-and-creamy.
Which SUNFORGED perfume should you choose? It is the question we hear most about the collection, and a fair one: all five are summer extraits in 100 ml bottles, and the campaign talks more about animals than about notes. This guide translates the SUNFORGED story into plain scent terms, sets the five side by side and then helps you narrow them down to the one that suits you. As an authorized Mykonos retailer for Europe we sell all five, so we are not neutral, but every note and rating below comes from the brand's own product data and handbook.
What is the Mykonos SUNFORGED collection?
SUNFORGED is the Mykonos high-summer collection, launched in Indonesia at the end of July 2026. Mykonos sums it up as "one force, five instincts": a raw desert-safari world where chrome bottles appear like rare objects under extreme sunlight. Each perfume is represented by an animal, expressed, as the brand puts it, through reflection, shadow, texture and movement.
- Marbella is the flamingo
- Untamed is the zebra
- Inferno is the dragon
- Imperium is the lion
- Nautilus is the seahorse
All five are extraits de parfum. In the brand handbook each SUNFORGED page lists sillage as moderate to strong, projection as strong and longevity as 10+ hours, so none of them is a light summer splash. You can see all five together, with the official films, on our SUNFORGED collection page.

A note on Imperium: in our store you find it on the Mykonos Empire product page. Imperium is the SUNFORGED name and gold bottle of Empire, the Mykonos collaboration with RRQ, and the scent inside is the same. The 100 ml ships in the gold IMPERIUM bottle. We explain the name change in Mykonos Imperium explained.
The five scents, one by one
Marbella, the flamingo: tropical and glowing
Mykonos Marbella opens with orange, lemon, passionfruit and mango, moves into frangipani, solar notes and blackcurrant, and settles on vanilla, benzoin, musk and labdanum. Mykonos describes it as a fragrance that glows on the skin long after the sun disappears, and that is the right picture: juicy at first, then warm and creamy. It is the most floral of the five and the one to choose for sunset dinners and holidays. Our Mykonos Marbella review goes into more detail.
Untamed, the zebra: clean with a creamy heart
Mykonos Untamed is the odd one out, and for many people the most interesting. Blackcurrant, bergamot, lemon, aldehydes and a crisp linen accord make the opening smell freshly laundered; the heart adds praline, musk, jasmine, violet and a coconut-soap accord; the base is black amber, cedarwood, vetiver, musk, vanilla and cashmeran. The campaign calls it freshness with a silver edge. It is listed for spring as well as summer, which makes it the most flexible of the five. See our Mykonos Untamed notes explained for how a praline scent manages to smell clean.
Inferno, the dragon: summer with a darker side
Mykonos Inferno starts bright with blackcurrant, bergamot, grapefruit and caramelized pineapple, then turns spicy with clove, nutmeg, ginger, cardamom and rose, and dries down to patchouli, oakmoss, amber, musk, vetiver, tonka bean and ambroxan. It is the boldest of the five and the one that leaves the most noticeable trail. Choose it if you want a summer scent with weight and confidence rather than pure freshness. Our Mykonos Inferno review covers how it wears.
Imperium, the lion: tropical citrus in gold
Imperium is Mykonos Empire in its SUNFORGED form: lime, bergamot, mandarin orange and tropical fruits on top, Sicilian orange, ginger, jasmine and coconut water in the heart, and patchouli, white musk and tonka bean in the base. Mykonos calls it "the scent of power under the sun". It is the crispest and most straightforwardly fresh of the five. Our store lists it in the For Him collection. For how it wears, read our Mykonos Empire review.
Nautilus, the seahorse: juicy pear over amber
Mykonos Nautilus is oceanic summer freshness dressed in blue and gold, in the brand's words. Pear, bergamot, ginger and mandarin orange open it; pear returns in the heart with orange blossom and jasmine; amber, musk, vanilla, guaiac wood and ambroxan make up the base. Fresh on the surface, powerful in the depths: it is sweeter and rounder than Imperium but fresher than Marbella. If you already love it, our guide to what to try if you like Mykonos Nautilus suggests where to go next.
Which SUNFORGED perfume should you choose?
Start with the kind of summer scent you normally reach for:
- You like classic fresh citrus: Imperium. It is the least sweet and the easiest to wear every day, from the office to the gym.
- You like fresh but with some sweetness: Nautilus. The pear and vanilla make it softer and more rounded than Imperium.
- You like fruity florals: Marbella. Mango, passionfruit and frangipani, with a creamy vanilla drydown.
- You want to be noticed: Inferno. Pineapple with a spicy, mossy base and the most presence of the five.
- You love "clean" scents: Untamed. Linen and soap on top, praline and amber underneath, and fine in spring too.
If you are torn between two, our comparisons put them side by side: Marbella vs Nautilus, Empire vs Nautilus and, for an alternative to Inferno outside the collection, Reflection vs Inferno.
Wearing SUNFORGED in the heat
Summer scents in extrait strength need a lighter hand than people expect. Heat makes perfume evaporate faster and project further, so on a hot day one or two sprays is plenty; our guide on how many sprays of perfume to use explains why. Spray on skin rather than clothes, and keep a stronger scent like Inferno or Nautilus on the chest rather than the throat when you will be close to people.
